Mission and Vision
Mission
Lestonnac Free Clinic's mission is to provide free health care services to low-income and uninsured residents in Southern California, through the support of generous volunteers and donors.
Vision
Lestonnac Free Clinic's vision is to expand the health care safety net to marginalized communities through collaboration and partnerships.
As one of the few remaining free clinics in the state, we are acutely aware of the shortage of affordable health care services and recognize that low-income and uninsured patients are often forced to make difficult choices between paying for medical care or using the money to pay for food, rent, and other basic necessities. Lestonnac works to fill critical gaps in the healthcare system for medically underserved populations, including the uninsured and financially vulnerable, to improve quality of life and alleviate the strain on community resources.
How Do We Do It?
Lestonnac Free Clinic’s (LFC) unique organizational model is supported by three core values: Leadership, Functionality, and Creativity.
Leadership
We are leading the way in providing healthcare for the most vulnerable community members through our:
Providers: Lestonnac relies on volunteer physicians, dentists, and mental health providers who graciously donate their time and expertise enabling us to provide FREE medical care to the most impoverished and underserved residents in our communities.
Volunteers: We mobilize volunteers to assist us
with translation, front and back office work, and administration. In turn they are provided with a strong learning environment to prepare them for their future careers.
Staff: Our dedicated and compassionate staff support our volunteers and operations by wearing many hats and doing whatever it takes to get the job done. This dynamic allows us to operate in an efficient and low-cost manner.
Functionality
We know we can’t do it alone. Often times, our patients need more resources than we can provide. In order to bridge service gaps, Lestonnac created the Community Referral Network (CRN), a web-based and HIPAA compliant referral tool, that fosters partnerships between local community organizations and health care providers to strengthen the regional health safety net. By working together, we can provide individualized holistic care for each patient.
Creativity
As Lestonnac does not bill insurance or receive any federal or state funding, we have to be creative in how we operate. We exists thanks to support from local and national grants, foundations, and private donors. Every contribution makes a difference!
Through guidance of our Board of Directors, the Clinic continues to search out new funding sources to strengthen current programs and operations, and seek opportunities to provide new services to patients.
