Medical
Medical volunteers work alongside medical assistants (MA) and a variety of medical providers. Volunteers are able to take part in front and back office duties to ensure patients receive the best quality care.
Dental
Dental volunteers work alongside dental assistants (DA) and dentists to provide care to patients. Volunteers learn chair side skills as they assist the dentist with fillings, extractions, and cleanings.
Translator
Translators are imperative in bridging the communication gap between patient and doctor. They ensure that both doctor and patient needs are being properly communicated.
Administrative
Administrative volunteers work alongside the administrative staff in areas such as marketing, photography/videography, journalism, community outreach, and overall office management.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us at Lestonnac Free Clinic. We are excited that you want to join our team! As one of the few free clinics in California we rely entirely on the participation of volunteers like you.
Please note that the clinic does not have a set application cycle and new volunteers are admitted based on the clinic’s current needs and available space.
Those who have submitted applications will be contacted via email once a spot becomes available that matches their submitted responses.
Shifts
Lestonnac is open 6 days a week at varying locations* and operates 9AM-5PM. Morning Shifts are typically 9AM-12PM and afternoon shifts are typically 1PM-5PM.
We maintain a large group of volunteers, so if you are in need of completing a large amount of hours in a short period of time, Lestonnac will not be able to accommodate you. If Saturdays are the only days you can volunteer, it may not be possible due to the fact that these shifts are very competitive and are filled immediately every week.
Volunteer Requirements
Monthly commitment of 12 hours (3-4 shifts) per month (dental volunteers only required to complete 2 shifts per month)
Willing to commit to one health fair shift per month, included in your hourly/shift minimum
6 months commitment
Volunteer must be 18 years of age or older
Scrubs are required
Provide proof of HepB vaccination and maintain a yearly negative TB test result.
Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or agree to weekly testing (dental volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated) *Waivers are available upon request
