Lestonnac Free Clinic provides 17 specialty care services to uninsured residents at no cost. Lestonnac serves as the specialty care hub for uninsured residents at neighboring community clinics. Beginning in 2021, Lestonnac expanded our specialty care program through the use of state-of-the-art telemedicine equipment. This allows for patients to receive care from specialists they did not previously have access to. The top 3 utilized specialties of 2022 were endocrinology (551 visits), neurology (539 visits), and gastroenterology (524 visits).

In 2023, 4,077 patients received specialty care services through 5,944 visits, free of charge.

Specialties:

  • Lestonnac provides free acupuncture services to the uninsured at the Orange and Compton clinics, through the generosity of 9 volunteer providers. The majority of patients referred to acupuncture are seeking treatment for conditions such as muscle and nerve pain, migraines, and anxiety.

    In 2023, 41 patients received acupuncture treatment via 121 visits, free of charge.

  • Lestonnac provides free cardiology services to the uninsured at the Orange clinic through the generosity of 4 volunteer providers. Patients are additionally able to receive cardiology consults through telemedicine. The majority of patients referred to cardiology are seeking treatment for the conditions such as hypertension, chest pain, and shortness of breath.

    Patients additionally have access to in-house diagnostic tests like EKGs, stress tests, echocardiograms, carotid ultrasounds, and hemodynamic scans.

  • Lestonnac provides free dermatology services to the uninsured at the Orange clinic through the generosity of 6 volunteer providers and in collaboration with UCI Dermatology.     Patients additionally have access to in-house biopsies for diagnosis of skin conditions.

    In 2023, 334 patients received dermatological care via 410 visits, free of charge.

  • Lestonnac provides free endocrinology services to the uninsured at the Orange and San Bernardino clinics through the generosity of 2 volunteer providers. The majority of patients referred to endocrinology are seeking treatment for conditions such as diabetes management and hyper/hypothyroidism.

    In 2023, 274 patients received endocrinology care via 551 visits, free of charge.

  • Lestonnac provides free GI services to the uninsured at the Orange clinic through the generosity of 3 volunteer providers. Patients are additionally able to receive GI consults through telemedicine. The majority of patients referred to GI are seeking treatment for conditions such as colon cancer screening and abnormal bowel movements.

  • Lestonnac provides free hematology & oncology services to the uninsured at the Orange, Norwalk, and Garden Grove clinics, through the generosity of a single volunteer provider.     In 2023, 125 patients received nephrology treatment via 194 visits, free of charge.

  • Lestonnac provides free neurology services to the uninsured at the Orange and Los Alamitos clinics through the generosity of 6 volunteer providers. Patients are additionally able to receive GI consults through telemedicine. The majority of patients referred to neurology are seeking treatment for conditions such as headaches, nerve pain, and numbness.

    Patients diagnosed with seizure disorders can be referred to Lestonnac’s Epilepsy Clinic for personalized care and treatment plans.

    In 2023, 412 patients received neurology care via 539 visits, free of charge.

  • Lestonnac provides free GYN services to the uninsured at the Orange clinic through the generosity of 4 volunteer providers. Patients across Southern California are additionally able to receive GYN consults through telemedicine. The majority of patients referred to GYN are seeking treatment for conditions such as abnormal bleeding, wellness exams, and pelvic pain.

    Lestonnac provides in-house pregnancy test, HIV tests, colposcopies, and pap smears to aid in diagnosis of GYN issues.

  • Lestonnac provides free rheumatology services to the uninsured at the San Bernardino clinic, through the generosity of a single volunteer provider. The majority of patients referred to rheumatology are seeking treatment for conditions such as arthritis and fibromyalgia.
